Colourfully nostalgic animatic for Branston.
We worked with Wonderhood to produce this 60’’ animatic for the new Branston TV campaign.
This charming ad, titled “Hit of Home” features a young woman who has moved away from her home to the big city. As she adapts to her new life, job and home surroundings, a voicemail from her mother plays out in the background. She receives a parcel from her parents containing a jar of Branston pickle, which instantly reminds her of home and prompts her to call her mum back.
We worked closely with the creative team and producers at Wonderhood, at first taking the brief and selecting artists Sandra and Steve to produce quick black and white pencil drawings. Once these were shared with the client, the artists worked up the frames in more detail, adding a warm colour pallet to help convey the homely, cosy feeling associated with Branston.
The artwork was then edited together by our in-house editing team, using subtle movement and zooms to bring the action to life. The agency supplied us with a VO which we added to the edit to help tell this feel-good story.
Produced from start to finish in two weeks, we’d like to think our animatic helped in some way to get the idea through research and onto our TV screens. See how the animatic relates to the final spot here
