Our client asked us to produce this 2D animatic for research purposes, targeting the UK market.

The creative concept was to show a drab, grey world at the beginning, which would then transform into a vibrant, colourful environment once our hero ate a Tic Tac.

We started with rough black-and-white sketches, with our talented artist Aaron developing these into a storyboard for client approval. Once the storyboard was approved, the artwork was developed and digitally coloured.

The artwork was then edited together by our motion team, with sound design and pack designs added during the editing stage.

Developing the Animatic with AI

We later developed the animatic further using AI software, giving it a more premium and polished finish.

Using our original black and white drawings as the foundation, we used text prompts to define the colours, lighting and overall realistic look of each frame.

Once we had a complete set of colour frames, we brought everything into After Effects to edit the sequence together. We then used AI tools, including Kling and Nano Banana, to create dynamic 3D camera moves and add further depth and movement to the animatic.
